I received the Lego Star Wars TIE Fighter & X-wing Mash-up (75393) for my independent and honest review.

My 11 year old son loved building this set. He finished building it in about 4 hours, and every moment, he was glued to the project instead of anything else. It was great seeing him so involved.

He loved the building process and the final results. He liked how realistic the design and colors looked to the box and what they appear to be in the movie. He likes the ability to switch wings! Switching them up not only made them more realistic to play with, but it makes the set very easy to store if you’re ever traveling. You can just take the wings off thus smaller for storing or putting away. The wings are not loose when on- the whole build feels very secure. He states that the only thing he doesn't like is that the character only fits a certain way in the TIE Fighter cab. He wanted the cabin area to be bigger so the character could stand or move in other positions.

All in all, I'd say it’s a wonderful set — it’s great they come together in this package. 100% recommend this set for anyone who's a Lego or Star Wars fanatic!

Lego, I absolutely love what you do. At least, I used to. The newer the sets get, the worse they get. I long for the golden era of Lego Star Wars. Now sets are tiny, extremely expensive, and plain sad. This is one of them. Why would you do this? There is no such thing as an X-wing/TIE fighter mix. They are from OPPOSING SIDES, for gods’ sake. They look terrible and are way too small. I have a 2018 Lego X-Wing fighter that is one of the best X-wings ever made. And the 2020 TIE fighter is awesome. This saddens me and I wish Lego was what it used to be.

For our first lego piece we found this extremely fun to build together. The details that go into creating a lego build are very clever. My partner is a Star Wars nut, needless to say there will be many more purchased for him. Me, I liked the look of the Jazz Club and some of the other buildings and look have started saving for my first Lego build.
