March 27, 2024The light effects for this are just absolutely perfect! The installation wasn't easy, but also not as hard as you might think. The lights are exceptionally bright and pretty easy to adjust with the remote version. This kit really brings the whole set together, and I will definitely be ordering more soon!
If you have a display case (like a Wicked Brick one) then I recommend leaving a bit of extra length on the wires for cable management. Practically all the power cables are black so you could just as easily skip some wire management and opt for black electrical tape as well.
TROUBLESHOOTING: If the eye light on your watcher isn't blinking, try turning the brightness setting up to the max. I've found that lowering the brightness causes the eye light to turn off completely.
A mechanical wonder! But something happened…

May 29, 2022First off, I do wanna say that I recommend this set to ALL Horizon fans if you can find it and afford it. I unfortunately came across many things.
A consumer did notice a mistake on Page 109 of the instructions and it is true. However, Step 11 at Page 68 is fine until Step 20 on Page 70 where four pieces in black are absent… and they’re in place again at Step 25 on Page 71. They don’t affect the building process, but it’s worth pointing out.
The box shipped from the partnered seller in Canada was also scratched and damaged which is unfortunate. It wasn’t shipped by LEGO, but I do believe I needed to mention it.
On the minifigure head of Aloy, one side has its left eye a little too large which is unfortunate… I’ve joined a picture of the complete Aloy minifigure in comparison to the Luke Skywalker minifigure from 75294. It is difficult for me to forgive a printing mistake on such a unique character in a high-priced product, one that is recognisable and loved by the fans of the series. The overall minifigure, however, is great. The headgear piece, the printing on the rest is incredible. It is that one printing for the eye that is really not satisfying and, as a gamer and consumer, it does hurt.
It is unfortunate because the rest of it has more than exceeded my expectations. What this set accomplishes and what it represents is wonderful. Building the Tallneck and its display base as well as the Watcher have been an incredible experience. It involved interesting building techniques and parts usage. The display base is full of colours and it allows the product to stand out on its own. Speaking of standing out, much respect for the design team as I believe they nailed it with the Tallneck despite the restrictions to make this an accessible product.
Great set, some mistakes in the instructions… but the misprint on the Aloy minifigure, as far as I’m concerned, is not cool at all. One side is just fine, but I don’t like that it happened to THE one that has been shown on the box, on most of the marketing material, and used in the comparison with the actual Aloy from the game in the instructions.
Something unique and fresh to the brand

July 25, 2023After collaborating with Overwatch by bringing a wave of interesting products, Lego this time makes a deal with Horizon by adding this unrealistic robot creature Tallneck to its current portfolio. It does not have any intricate building techniques that would surprise you if you are a serious Lego Master builder. However, Lego Tallnech has a very weird aesthetic that makes you feel so right. About the Minifigure, Lego is being very generous by giving us a new hairpiece for Aloy. Arms, torso, legs, and double-side head printing is new as well. If you want to know my nitpicking of this product, that would be the cutting of the stickers. It does not align well, so I choose not to apply them. Other than that, this is a great set. 9/10
Great Homage to a Great Construct

February 7, 2023This was an excellent set! As someone who's built Lego sets for the last couple decades, I always love when Lego sets intersect with my other hobbies so picking this one up was a easy choice.
It's great for anyone looking for a decent challenge and I felt it was worth it's price-point.
My only slight gripe comes from the stickers meant to go on a couple exterior pieces of the construct. I opened my box to discover two of the stickers were missing from the sheet supplied and I didn't see them stuck to any of the other contents of the box. Their absence doesn't really take away from the overall design, it's just a bummer they were missing.
But I'm sure it was a fluke and I otherwise had a blast putting it together. I know licensing can be tricky but I would be thrilled to see more creatures from this game Lego-ified.
